julyperspective.com. Last updated: November 2026
1. Who I am
This website, julyperspective.com, is run by Julita Lygnugaryte t/a July Perspective (“I”, “me”, “my”), a sole trader based in Edinburgh, UK. I am the “controller” of the personal data described in this policy, which means I decide how and why it is used.
You can contact me at hey@julyperspective.com or at Office 794, 18 Young St, UNIT LGE, Edinburgh,
EH2 4JB, Scotland.
This page covers both my privacy policy (how I use personal data) and my cookie policy (how the website uses cookies and similar technologies).
2. What personal data I collect
If you contact me. If you email me, I receive your name, email address, and anything you choose to include in your message.
Website usage data. If you accept analytics cookies, I use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. This can include your IP address and online identifiers, the pages you visit, how long you stay, your device, browser and operating system, the website that referred you, and your approximate location. I use this to see which content is useful and to improve the site.
Technical data. My website host, WordPress.com (run by Automattic), processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details when you visit, in order to deliver and secure the site.
Email newsletter (include only when live). If you subscribe to my mailing list, I collect your email address [and name] and a record of when and how you subscribed. I also see whether you open or click emails if tracking is switched on in my email service.
I do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and I do not collect special category data through this website.
3. Why I use your data and my lawful basis
| What I do | Why | Lawful basis |
| Reply to your enquiry | To respond to you and, if relevant, discuss working together | Legitimate interests (running my business and answering people who contact me), or taking steps at your request before a contract |
| Analytics (Google Analytics) | To understand and improve how the website is used | Your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time |
| Keep the site secure and working | To deliver the site and protect it from misuse | Legitimate interests |
| Send marketing emails (include only when live) | To send you news, updates and offers you have asked for | Your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email |
| Keep business and tax records | To meet legal obligations | Legal obligation |
Where I rely on legitimate interests, I have considered whether they are outweighed by your rights and freedoms, and I do not use your data in ways you would not reasonably expect.
4. Who I share your data with
I do not sell your personal data. I share it only with service providers that help me run the website and my business, and only as needed:
- WordPress.com / Automattic, who host this website.
- Google, for Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies.
- Titan email which handles the emails you send me.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or insurers, where needed, and authorities where the law requires it.
These providers act under their own privacy terms or on my instructions, as applicable.
5. Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers, including Google and Automattic, may process data in countries outside the UK, such as the United States. Where this happens, I rely on safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses, as set out in each provider’s terms. [Check each provider’s current transfer mechanism before publishing.]
6. How long I keep your data
- Emails and enquiries: Up to 24 months, unless we start working together, in which case I keep records for as long as the law requires (usually 5 years for business and tax records).
- Google Analytics data: 14 months
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, after which I keep only a minimal record so I do not email you again (include only when live).
- Cookie preferences: stored in your browser as indicated in the cookie policy below.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used (this policy)
- access the personal data I hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data erased in certain circumstances
- restrict how I use your data in certain circumstances
- receive your data in a portable format, where it applies
- object to my use of your data where I rely on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent (this does not affect anything done before you withdrew)
To use any of these rights, email me at hey@julyperspective.com. I will normally reply within one month.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, please contact me first so I can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
